Our remaining peace evaporated when the missiles started falling, fired by cruelly-intentioned leaders of the Alliance. I know what you’re thinking... WHAT freaking missiles? But bear with me, there’s a lot to cover, and not a lot of time. Soon we found ourselves confined to David’s bunker, frantically searching for any information. Who was left? How had the fallout altered the landscape?

A military trained vigilant scientist, David’s work in Accelerated sciences has lead to his intimate knowledge of the fallout that has come to pass. David left the field for the lab in order to be closer to home to start a family with Betty. But the difficulties they’ve experienced in starting a family has kept David in the lab more than he wants to admit. He will stop at nothing to protect his wife, and the future of his work with regeneration of plant life. David is strong willed, and immovable in his science. He has a dark past that haunts him, but that dark past was doing what he believed was good at the time, and the haunting of it, toys with him as he questions his decisions.
A kindergarten school teacher, Betty’s driving force in life is Love, a vast contrast to her husband's scientific mandates. Betty loves her husband very much and is incredibly saddened by the troubles the couple has had with having a child. The joy she brings to the education is fueled by her love of children and their imagination. Her motivations are to live a fulfilling life, through science and family.
A doomsday prepper to the extreme. His character is really a wide and deep lens on the real life doomsday preppers. Diagnosed with a severe case of OCD, Reid created a Panic Fortress & the perfect haven for survival in Santa Barbara with his underground safe house. An astrophysicist by trade Reid has spent his life researching parallel dimensions and spacetime. Reid's ability to parlay a scientific mind with a love of prepping puts him in a unique position for the end of the world. Reid is not whimsical like David, but hardened by his love for an eventual doomsday.
A vibrant and endearing woman. Linda looks to be the backbone of any situation, being the wittiest / funniest person in a room, providing satirical relief for Reid’s science heavy jargon.
A vicious warrior. Rodey will stop at nothing to capture David and Betty and force David to use his science and botany to help stabilize his faction of people. A former general in the US Army, Rodney realized quickly the breath of destruction that was caused from the nuclear attack and rallied a group of like minded military personnel to create the 7 Flags. Rodney has no room for empathy, while his decisions seem rash, and unruly they are never corrupt, always with the line of sight to have his people endure. He will go to any measure to protect his people, and even the people he needs to kidnap like the Anders, but right and wrong is measured very differently with Rodney.
